Carbon Finance Business Participants are comprised of both companies and governments. The contributions from both companies and governments are being used to purchase emission reductions (ERs) fully consistent with the Kyoto Protocol and the emerging framework for JI and the CDM. Governments are involved to assure companies that the CFB will operate within the regulatory framework being developed by the Parties to the UNFCCC, and to guide and learn from the CFB's experience in supporting sustainable development.
