11.16.2006 State of the African Carbon Market: Despite Increases Africa left behind in the carbon market
Nairobi, November 16, 2006—A report on the state of the carbon market that focuses on Africa, shows that the continent that will be hardest hit by climate change is also the continent that has benefited least from the carbon market. In the first nine months of 2006, the carbon market grew to nearly $22 billion, more than doubling in value over the almost $11 billion recorded in 2005.
