Moldova Soil Conservation ERPA Signed

The World Bank's BioCarbon Fund signed an Emission Reductions Purchase Agreement (ERPA) with the National Forest Agency of Moldova (Moldsilva) on June 16, 2006 to purchase emission reductions from the Moldova Soil Conservation project. The Moldova Soil Conservation project is one of 23 land use, land-use change and forestry (LULUCF) projects in the BioCarbon Fund portfolio. The BioCarbon Fund expects to purchase about 350,000 tons of CO2 equivalent by 2012 and about 600,000 tons by 2017 from the project.
