Honduras: Hydropower Project Brings Additional Development Dividend Through Carbon Trade

LA ESPERANZA, HONDURAS, August 4, 2005—The people of the town of La Esperanza in central Honduras are getting direct development benefits through innovative carbon trade mechanisms provided by the World Bank managed Community Development Carbon Fund (CDCF) “La Esperanza Hydroelectric Project” implemented by Consorcio de Inversiones S.A.from Honduras is a small scale hydroelectric project in the remote and mountainous rural area of the Intibuca region of central Honduras.
