What is the World Bank's Host Country Committee?

Introduction
CF-Assist is implemented in close collaboration with the World Bank’s Host Country Committee on Carbon Finance (HCC), a vehicle by which the Bank obtains advice and feedback on its carbon finance capacity building and training activities. It is comprised of all those countries that have signed MoU’s to participate in the HCC or that benefit from a CDM/JI project supported by a Bank-managed carbon fund. As of July 2005, there are over 50 member countries represented in the Host Country Committee.

Sub-committees 2005 - 2006

Pricing Sub-Committee
Following an extended discussion on the issue of prices for Verified/Certified Emission Reductions at the February 2005 meeting of the World Bank Host Country Committee in Washington DC, it was decided that a sub-committee on prices would be formed to explore and understand World Bank prices for Emission Reductions. Objective of the Sub-Committee:

i) Advice the World Bank Carbon Finance Unit on its pricing guidelines;
ii) Explore in depth, prices for Emission Reductions and their formation, so that Sub-committee and Host Country Committee members are better equipped and able to negotiate with other buyers, brokers, and public & private entities;

A secondary objective of this Communicate is to communicate the same to stakeholders, including public and private enterprises.
