This note summarizes the way the BioCarbon Fund proposes to handle the risk of non-permanence, i.e. the risk that a carbon sink having delivered emission reductions may deteriorate or be deliberately depleted over the long term. The note describes the cost effective measures that would be taken at the portfolio and project levels. These measures integrate the CoP9 provisions on temporary crediting. |
